As a California Credentialed English teacher having taught English, Reading, and Second Language Learners for over 20 years, Patty has significant classroom and individualized teaching experience with students of all ages. In addition, she has a Master’s degree in Reading and is a certified teacher of Structured Literacy by the Academy of Orton-Gillingham Practitioners and Educators. She has been trained with a Fellow for four years to develop and implement reading, spelling, and writing lessons. She regularly builds her professional development by attending conferences, collaborating with professors, and receiving training with different reading approaches such as SPELL-Links in order to benefit her students. Currently, she provides private 1:1 reading, spelling, and writing intervention at her office in downtown Santa Barbara.
